If you have a home with wall-to-wall carpeting and a section of that rug gets stained or torn, you pretty much have to replace all the carpeting with new. That is a lot of money, and the only way to get around spending so much would be to invest in one or more large area rugs.

With large area rugs you have several options. If your wall-to-wall carpeting is a solid color, you can purchase a large area rug in a contrasting color or pattern. You then put the area rug down over top of the older carpet, and hide whatever damage was there. You can do the same thing even if there is no damage to the original carpeting. Maybe you would just like to update the look and feel of your room and that is an easy way to do it. If you have kids, and the rug is for their room, you can get a large area rug that is colorful so that most of the potential stains won’t show up very well.

With the economy we all need to use our money to our advantage. The use of large area rugs you can take a dull and drab room and turn it into a showcase. A large part of your decorating money is literally on the floor. Make the most of that money.

If you buy large area rugs and something happens, like staining, you may have to replace the rugs of course. However, the cost between large area rugs and large rooms full of wall-to-wall carpeting is quite different.

Another great use for large area rugs is to set up distinctive areas of the room. You can use one large rug to define the kid’s area of the room, and a second separate large area rug to define the adult portion of the room.

If you have decent hardwood flooring, think about adding some large area rugs for comfort and beauty. In the winter your kids sit on the chilly floor. Add some rugs and it will be more comfortable for them.

You can use large area rugs to cover stains made by adults, which is what I had to do. I had several large stains between my sofa and coffee table. I found a large area rug the perfect size for where I needed it. Stains are covered and no one is the wiser.

I couldn’t imagine not having my large area rugs. It is an essential in my house. I use them in my living and sitting room. The purpose of having a large area rug in my living room is solely for decorative reasons. My opinion is my living room would really look plain and ordinary without it. I always choose colors in my rug that will go perfectly with my curtains and other articles in my living room. My large area rug in the living room doesn’t really get that dirty, because no one ever really goes in there.

Now, my sitting room is where all the action starts and ends. From the moment everyone in the house wakes up, until everyone retires at night. We are all in the sitting room doing various tasks. The children really enjoy the large area rug, because it is soft and comfortable. They can sit for hours doing homework and playing games.
We have two Maltese’s and they enjoy the carpet, just as much as everyone else. I can’t tell you how many times a day they spend stretched out across that carpet. I am not too picky when it comes to the up keep for this particular carpet. But I do try to keep it clean and presentable. It is easy to misplace small items in this carpet. So, before I vacuum, I have to sweep it with a broom to make sure I find all the hidden pieces.

My husband is just as bad as the two Maltese’s when it comes to this carpet. After work he is the first one stretched out across the floor glued in front of the television.

I have been debating whether or not; I want to put a large area rug in my bedroom. I actually think it would really accentuate it more. But we really don’t spend a lot of time in there. That is still something I am considering.

I have considered putting a large area rug in my son’s room, but then I began to think hard. Do I really want two rugs I would have to search for missing toys in? I think not! However, I love my large area rugs; I would not trade them in for anything. I enjoy the fact they are very easy to clean and serve its purpose, making my home look beautiful and feel inviting.

If you have just moved into a new home with hardwood flooring and you would rather have carpeting, what can you do? It would be a lot of money to have wall-to-wall carpeting installed over the hardwood floors. It is possible that the next buyer would love to have the hardwoods exposed. But if you really want to cover up some of the wood, you can do that with large area rugs. That is exactly what I did just a few short months ago.

I have a home with hardwoods in the living room, dining room, hall and kitchen. That is a lot of hardwood flooring that needed to be refinished. However, I did not have time to have the floors redone before I moved in. I also have an older dog that has trouble maneuvering on the hardwoods. I needed a fast and inexpensive answer to my carpet needs.

The solution to my problem, and possibly to your problem, is large area rugs. I could not find an area rug in any store large enough for my space. I wanted about two feet of hardwood flooring to show around the perimeter of the room, and the rest of the room would be a large area rugs.

I finally called in an old friend who owns a carpet outlet store. I knew his prices would be very good. My friend came to my home, did all the measuring and laid out a diagram for the guys who would deliver the large area rugs.

At that time we went over all my carpet options and I finally chose the new short shag look that is so popular. I picked the same exact large area rugs for the dining room and living room, and also a stair runner to the second floor. Once my friend got back to his store, he ran the estimate, faxed it to me and I placed the order for two large area rugs.

Approximately one week later the area rugs were delivered, the furniture was moved, the rugs put down and everything went back in place within a short period of time.

Large area rugs were the answer for me. Now the dog can walk safely, the wood is covered but still has enough exposed to see the beauty, and the floor has warmed up considerably. The answer to your problem might be large area rugs also!

You can select the perfect couch and complimenting side tables or arrange a room so that you can greet the morning sun. All details, large and small ultimately culminate in the expression of your personality into your room. From lighting to window treatments to wall color and flooring choice, nothing quite expresses personality quite like the decoration in a room. One of the most functional and stylistic pieces that can compliment a room is a large area rug to provide the backdrop on which the rest of your furnishings are staged.

Large area rugs combine the best of trendy styles with functional necessity. Area rugs provide the foundation of the room and act as a compliment to draw attention to other points of interest in the vicinity. With an endless amount of choices and styles to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect large area rug for any room or purpose.

Area rugs come in a variety of styles and colors. Shoppers can pick anything from solid colored rugs to traditional Persian patterns or contemporary patterns with a modern flair. Area rugs also come in a variety of patterns and textures. For use in the hearth in front of the fireplace you may wish to put a soft faux fur rug to lay on while roasting marshmallows over an open flame. For high traffic areas consider rugs made with stain repellent materials of high durability. For those living with allergies, large area rugs provide a soft medium to balance out cold hardwood, vinyl or tiled flooring. Rugs, like carpet can be made from hypo allergenic materials, which, unlike carpet have the convenience and ability to be taken out for cleaning.

In addition to style, large area rugs provide essential functionality for any room. Large area rugs protect hardwood flooring or underlying carpet from the daily wear and tear of everyday life. Large area rugs help protect equity by protecting assets such as hardwood floors or ceramic tile which help add to the overall value of your house. Purchase large area rugs for high traffic areas such as hallways, playrooms and living rooms. Large area rugs can also be placed in home offices, especially those which utilize rolling chairs. Large area rugs will also be helpful in home gyms where the flooring takes especially high stress from exercise. For areas such as home gyms, kitchens or offices select area rugs made especially for these purposes. Some area rugs designed for these types of rooms contain specialized memory foam to provide all day comfort for those who spend long periods of time standing or working.
